Learning
Curwen and Kodaly techniques are used.
Members attend twice weekly during term time (38 weeks per year) for a 30 minute individual lesson and a 60 minute group lesson either for violin, viola, cello or double bass.
Pupils of any teacher may attend group lesson only. There are currently eight groups serving all levels of attainment.
Young children can attend a weekly pre-instrumental class. The training of the inner ear (rhythm and pitch) is a fundamental aspect of the tuition.
Parents can be shown how to help their children practise well, in between weekly lessons.
